Mama Needs

Blog

Say yes.

Say yes.

We’ve had a self-care tip before that read “Say no” so this may sound counterintuitive, but stick with me!

In the past 3-4 months or so, we’ve had to say “no” to many things like vacations, school, hugs, parties, travel and so much more.

Now that more activities are acceptable, let’s practice saying “YES”!

YES to…

Name it.

Name it.

A dear friend of mine named Maeve reminded me today to slow down and be thoughtful. And it was so good for my soul that I wanted to share it with you so you can do the same.

The question she asked was, “What do you miss?” I’ll ask you the same plus a few more:

A good bucket list is always fun for the kids! Mine love to make a list and check the items off one-by-one!

We’re finally warming up around the country and the sun is shining bright! Happy times are coming and hopefully we can make some fun plans this summer!

Either way, make an outdoor bucket list with your family! Each member can come up with 3-5 things to add to the list!

Choose your own adventure!

Self-Care Tip Tuesday looks a little different today!

I decided to CROWDSOURCE for tips on Instagram Stories and when I got the results, I couldn’t choose just one tip! They were all so good and so important that I just wanted to share them all!

Adjust your expectations

Adjust your expectations

What do you do when a pandemic hits the world? I choose a word for each year and my word for 2020 is “Go”. Which of course is pretty ironic considering I’ve been forced to “Stay (at home)”.

I’m choosing to believe that happy times are on the way and that change is coming – in a good way. I’ve had to adjust my standards and expectations and so many people have pivoted their businesses and lives. Our kids have had to completely switch up their days and it’s been a huge adjustment for us all.

A Mother’s Day Story

A Mother’s Day Story

Motherhood was something I knew would probably be part of my life but I didn’t always want to be a Mom. I honestly didn’t think I was cut out for the job.

None of us know what we’re doing.

None of us know what we’re doing.

I have 3 kids and not one of them is the same. The first one hates to sleep, eats like a bird and never wants to miss anything. The second one loves to sleep and eats anything and goes with the flow. And the last one sleeps OK, is my pickiest eater and is stubborn as a bull. They’re 11, 8 and 5 now, and I’m STILL learning new things about them.

You can’t pour from an empty cup

You can’t pour from an empty cup

I want you to picture a carafe of hot coffee (or tea, whatever you fancy). It’s filled to the brim and ready to be poured into cups.

That carafe should be you – filled up and ready to take on each day. The cups represent your family, your job, and the things you need to accomplish. When you pour and pour all day long without filling up that carafe, you will be totally empty.

✨ SELF-CARE TIP TUESDAY ✨ Yesterday at 6pm on a Monday night I had no plan for dinner. Yikes. I...

Take the guesswork out of dinner!

Take the guesswork out of dinner!

Since we’re all cooking what seems like 24/7 these days, I thought we would do a self-care tip about meal planning. Especially since our April box is themed “Mama Needs a Meal Plan”! By the way, TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO ORDER! It ships on Friday!

So let’s take the guessing out of dinner, shall we? Pick a day (I usually try do this on Sunday) and sit down with your family. Go around and ask what everyone might want for dinner!
